The Thematic Dictionary of Ancient Arabia (ISSN 3036-3527) is a comprehensive electronic dictionary covering several aspects of history, society, religion, linguistics and topography in Arabia between the early 1st millennium BCE and the 7th century CE.

The dictionary entries derive primarily from the consideration of epigraphic and archaeological material, which in turn gives rise to an assessment of the reliability and historicity of other sources, often considered as distorted by distance (Classical sources) or remoteness (Arab-Islamic sources).

In this respect, the TDAA is intended to fulfil the need for an open access updated synthesis of the available data. The TDAA will be of benefit to specialists of Ancient Arabia, by presenting a synthesis taking into account the latest research developments, but also to the wider academic community (students and scholars in Classical, Islamic, Ethiopic, Iranian, and Near Eastern studies), by providing easy access to crucial sources for understanding the Ancient World and the emergence of Islam.

The TDAA is a collaborative project mobilizing scholars from all over the world. It consists of alphabetically arranged entries, with emphasis on positive information rather than on the expression of points of view or arguments. Each entry has been peer-reviewed to ensure the quality and reliability of its content.
